Nomenclature expanded – synergetic effects anticipated
Frankfurt am Main, 9 March 2015. – The METAV 2016 –19th International Exhibition for Metalworking Technologies – will be opening its doors in Düsseldorf from 23 to 27 February 2016, under the motto of “Power your business”. The exhibitor documents are currently being dispatched. Companies can register as of now.
Four areas for Additive Manufacturing, Moulding, Quality and Medical are being integrated as permanent features into the METAV’s existing agenda. “With this expansion, we are aiming to offer both exhibitors and visitors new, attractive topics themed around the value creation chain in the capital goods industry,” explains Dr. Wilfried Schäfer, Executive Director of the METAV’s organiser VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association) in Frankfurt am Main. To complement the technologies for metalworking, automation, production metrology and software, which have hitherto constituted the METAV’s core business, two additional, particularly sophisticated application categories are being addressed in the shape of the Moulding Area and the Medical Area. Moreover, the Additive Manufacturing Area and the Quality Area will supplement the existing agenda themed around the production process. “All four topics intermesh superlatively with the METAV’s agenda that’s so familiar to our customers. We are confident that they will prove to be a magnet for many old and new trade visitor groupings,” predicts Schäfer. In all categories, a complete overview of the relevant products, processes and services will be offered, vital as a foundation for deciding on capital investments.
To render this change visible to everyone, the existing nomenclature has been expanded by more than 300 products in the search term listing. This means the METAV now covers a portfolio of almost 1,100 products. “The expansion is an attractive step for exhibitors and visitors alike, because it offers substantial synergetic effects,” says Schäfer.
The new concept has already met with widespread approval. In a typical comment for his sector, Paul Horn, Managing Partner of Paul Horn GmbH in Tübingen, says: “Expanding into additional areas is a definite plus for the METAV. Because it means that more exhibitors will be represented, who at the same time may also be customers of ours.” And Gunther Borbonus, Managing Director of MTE Deutschland GmbH in Montabaur, adds: “In my view, the METAV is on the right track with its concept of creating more breadth in the public concerned.”
“We offer an attractive platform in Europe’s premier industrial conurbation, and the adjoining countries, with almost 5,000 firms and nearly 700,000 employees from the customer sectors of the machine tool industry alone,” emphasises Schäfer of the VDW. “For every vendor keen to benefit from this customer potential, the METAV (after an EMO in Milan) is an absolute must!”
